The twelfth edition of the event will begin at 8:45 a.m. with two amateur competitions over 120 cm. and 130 cm. obstacles. In the opening jumping competition at 2:00 p.m. under the patronage of the Gönnerclub Pferdesport Basel, the professionals will compete against each other for the first time. At 4:45 p.m., the Bemer Int. AG Prize will follow, a jumping competition over 145 cm. obstacles. Finally, the big highlight of the day will begin at 8:00 p.m.: the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois Basel Prize – a competition in one round with a jump-off.

Two more amateur competitions will ring i the second day of the tournament from 8:30 a.m. From 2:00 p.m. the professionals will enter the equestrian arena to compete for the Thermoplan AG Prize. This will be followed at 4:30 p.m. by the no less exciting two-phase jumping competition for the Canton of Baselland Prize. As a crowning finale to the day, the riders will compete in the LONGINES GRAND PRIX from 7:45 p.m., which will be contested in one round with a jump-off and will serve as a qualifier for the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ on Sunday.

Once again the amateurs will demonstrate the abilities of their horses, starting at 8:30 and 11:15. At 14:00 the Helvetia International Amateur Final will start, now in its sixth year. The Swiss Horse of the Year will be honoured at 15:35. The programme continues at 17:00 with the Grand Basel Showjumping event, held under the patronage of Dach + Holztech GmbH, followed at 19:45 by Basel City Championships. In this demanding event riders will compete not only for the financial rewards, but also the coveted “Basel Golden Drum” trophy.

The most important competition for the dressage riders begins at 9:00 a.m.: the Grand Prix Freestyle for the prize of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois Basel. At 2:15 p.m. the stakes are very high – an obstacle height of 160 cm., with a field of 40 world-class riders and world-class horses. This is no less than the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™, presented by the J. Safra Sarasin bank.
