The arena is taking shape!

Since 1 December, around 50 dedicated volunteers have been working around the St. Jakobshalle. First, stables, warm-up areas and tents were set up, and now work is focusing on the interior of the hall. ‘We are working from top to bottom,’ explains Christoph Socin, co-president of LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL. The first step is to install the lighting and sound systems, followed by the hospitality areas. Finally, the floors will be covered with sand. Speaking of sand, a total of 1,500 tonnes have been delivered – 800 tonnes for the arena and another 700 tonnes for the warm-up areas.
