A fitting opening for the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL – between commemoration and grand spectacle
The LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL got off to an atmospheric start with the ceremonial entrance of the Junteressli clique. President Dr Thomas Straumann then took the floor and asked the audience to take a Moment of Silence for the victims and relatives of Crans-Montana. In his speech, he also emphasised that the welfare of the horses is always the focus of the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL.
Conradin Cramer, President of the Government of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, thanked the organising committee, the numerous volunteers and the spectators, and emphasised that equestrian sport thrives on shared experiences. The impressive show by Peter Marvey provided a spectacular finale.
