Wins for the favourites at the World Cup competitions

Wow, what a successful premiere! At the dressage, shown for the first time in Basel and presented by the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, the Olympic Champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER) and Dalera BB were in a class of their own in both the Grand Prix on Saturday and the Freestyle on Sunday. Isabell Werth (GER) took second place on both days with Quantaz. Third place went to Dinja von Liere (NED) with Hartsuijker on Saturday and Nanna Skodborg Merrald (DEN) with Zepter on Sunday. OC President Andy Kistler looks back with great pleasure: “The way the new discipline was received by the audience exceeded our expectations by far. We were able to experience great sport at the very highest level and it has been shown that dressage is a perfect fit for our show.”

In the World Cup show jumping competition on Sunday afternoon, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) in the saddle of his exceptional horse King Edward once again won sovereignly ahead of Marcus Ehning (GER) with Stargold and Pius Schwizer (SUI) on Vancouver de Lanlore. The Swede was outstanding on the four show days. He already won the Basel City Championships for the Golden Drum on Saturday evening with Calizi and came second with Iliana in the main competition on the opening day.
