Award of Honour for Spruce Meadows

This year, the ‘Award of Honour’ goes to Canada: Spruce Meadows is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. The event and institution have been built by the Southern family over two generations and are now successfully led into the future by Linda Southern-Heathcott. Spruce Meadows is an occasion that brings together people around the world who share a passion for horses—both within the equestrian community and beyond. This year, Linda Southern-Heathcott was also awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal, another recognition of her long-standing commitment to equestrian sport and the international horse world.

In January 2026, the ‘Award of Honour’ will be presented for the 15th time. This award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to equestrian sport and its global community. In celebration of the anniversary, the honour now includes, in addition to the legendary golden horse with blue eyes and the accompanying international distinction, a financial contribution of 25,000 swiss francs. Each award recipient selects an institution to which the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL will transfer the amount in their name.
