We are expanding our programme and will be offering CSI3* classes for the first time in January 2027. These will comprise three show jumping classes with fence heights of 140 cm, 145 cm and 150 cm. The ‘Absolute Trucks Grand Prix’, with prize money of 110,000 euros, and the ‘Pferdesport Basel Supporters’ Club Prize’, with prize money of 30,000 euros, count towards the Longines World Rankings.

 

The CSI3* classes provide additional opportunities for top international riders to compete with their young horses. This provides an additional incentive for them to compete in Basel. At the same time, the field opens up to talented young riders who have reached this ambitious level with their horses. Thus, established world-class riders meet ambitious young talent – an exciting mix.

 

Everyone involved benefits from the CSI3*: Athletes competing in the CSI5*-W can enter more horses and make even better use of their time in Basel. Talented young horses gain valuable experience at a higher level. Swiss athletes from the national elite who are not be nominated for the CSI5*-W are given an additional opportunity to compete. Further international participants can also be selected.

 

A total of 50 riders, each with one horse, will be invited. Selection will be made in accordance with the FEI Jumping Rules and will be divided into three groups: 20 riders will be invited based on the Longines World Rankings, 15 local riders will be selected by the Swiss Equestrian Federation, and 15 riders from around the world will be chosen by us, the organisers.
